Foodie Friday: The Soup House

Happy Friday loves & welcome back to another series of Foodie Friday! Today we are checking out a restaurant called, The Soup House.

Inside The Soup House, there is really no decor or ambiance BUT there is a huge TV with Chinese dramas playing- pretty awesome if your into it!

Take out option is available here & they serve different types of appetizers, soups, topped steam rice, soup noodles & of course what I usually order from here- their clay pot rice.

As soon as you take a seat, the waitress serves you with tea & on the table you have toothpicks, salt shaker & the oh so yummy sweet soy sauce (you pour this all over the clay pot rice, yum!).

To start the meal, you get a hot bowl of house soup & a side of pickled veg. (compliments the clay pot rice very nicely because of it's sour flavour & that crunch!).

I almost always order the chicken, Chinese sausage & mushroom clay pot rice. The clay pot is super hot to the touch so it comes in a basket. I love how the food stays hot throughout the whole meal! Right when I get the rice, this is when I pour some of that sweet soy sauce all over it. The rice & the meats soak up that sauce & it's so delicious!! Let me tell you guys a secret. At the bottom of the clay pot there is this layer of "burnt" crispy rice that is filled with flavour. You can either dig it up first and mix it with the non crispy rice or what I like to do is save it until the end of the meal & pretty much save the best for last... mmm mmm!

Allan, my hubby loves ordering the shrimp paste pork jowl clay pot rice. This flavour is one where you either love it or hate it & he LOVES IT. Oooh and I forgot to mention that every clay pot comes with leafy green veg. as well, goes perfectly with the entire meal.

I have tried a few places for clay pot rice & The Soup House is by far the best one because it is so tasty, flavourful & just perfect. Even though it's not anything fancy, the food is worth giving this place a visit.

Hope you enjoyed this Foodie Friday post. Thank you so much for reading my loves. Have a wonderful weekend! TGIF, whoo!!

Wet N Wild Megalast Liquid Lip Color Review

Hi my loves! Today I will be reviewing Wet N Wild's Megalast Liquid Lip Color. I purchased it from Superstore for $3.99 CAD. When I was at the display there were about 8-10 shades to choose from. I noticed 1 particular shade was down to it's last two (923A Back To The Fuchsia) so of course it was the most popular & it was the one that I picked up!

What this product is all about:
-Intense liquid color with built-in moisturizer
-Provides 1-step application for weightless, ultra-conditioning wear
-Lasts up to 8 hours
-ElastiSilk formula combines flexible color adhesion with silky-smooth pigments for transfer-proof, even application
-Conditioning and moisturizing

The packaging is very simple, the tube color shows you what color the lipstick is & it has a black twist off cap. The applicator is a long flat brush & it feels a bit hard once you apply it on the lips. Initially, when I applied the product on my lips- it glided on effortlessly and was very creamy + pigmented & felt moisturizing. A few seconds later, it dried to a matte finish & my lips felt very dry.

Naturally, after applying lipstick I puckered my lips together & it all went downhill from there! My lips looked blotchy- some parts were missing the lip color & the texture on my lips just felt super dry & sticky too. I looked at my lips closely in the mirror & it looked so dry, the lip color settled into the lines of my lips, & the color was not even- not very pretty at all.

So I went on with the day, ate lunch, drank water, etc. & I notice no transfer of color whatsoever so that was pretty awesome! By the end of the day, it was time to take this lip color off. It was tough taking it off with make up remover & a cotton pad, you really have to scrub this off your lips- it will not budge if you don't.

Overall, I would not repurchase this lippie as I like my lip products to be hydrating/moisturizing & of course look good on my lips! Although, I think it would be good to wear to the beach or pool where you don't want your lipstick to budge.

Have you tried these, what are your thoughts?

NYC Expert Last Lip Color Review + Swatches!

Hi Loves, today I will be reviewing NYC's NEW Expert Last Lip Color. I purchased these at my local Walmart for 2 for $3- so affordable! There are 15 shades to choose from in the collection.

What this lip color is all about:
The New NYC Expert Last Lipstick is moisturizing, comfortable and long wearing, it stays on up to 6 hours. Discover the wide range of shades developed to match your every mood and style! You’ll find perfect plummy shades standing alongside true reds, next to creamy peaches. There’s one here for every look, outfit and situation you could dream of.

Benefits:
-Wears up to 6 hours
-Long-lasting shine
-Amplified color
-Velvety and glamorous finish
-Perfectly outlines lips
-Doesn't feather or bleed

I was very please with the packaging of these lippies. Even though they were so affordable the feel of the packaging felt like it could have been double the price. The lipstick base was the same color as the lipstick itself, had a nice clear top w/ the NYC logo imprinted onto it. Also, the cap came on and off very easily & nicely (usually with some cheaper lipsticks, the caps are so tough to even take off).

I picked up 441 Traffic Jam (Semi-shiny red shade) & 445 Coralista (Coral shade w/ tiny pink & gold shimmers). Both had great pigmentation, glided on the lips very smoothly & felt quite hydrating on. The moisture from the lipstick lasted on my lips for about 5 hours but the color definitely stayed on for 6 hours+. Both shades that I picked up did not bleed on my lips BUT Traffic Jam did feather just a little but- wasn't too noticeable. Also, these lipsticks are like any other lipsticks- they do transfer when your eating, drinking or wiping your lips & the color just comes right off.

Overall, I did really enjoyed these lipsticks & for the price I think you are getting an awesome deal! Definitely pick some up!! Love. If you would like to see a full review, watch the video down below.

Hope this review was helpful to you, thank you so much for reading & watching! What do you think of NYC's Expert Last Lip Color?

Manicure Monday: Revlon Charming

Hi everyone! I don't know about you guys but around this time of the year, I long for Spring/Summer. I needed a reminder that the Spring season is among us so what polish did I gravitate towards this week? A pastel purple polish from Revlon called Charming- perfect!

Charming is a creamy lilac shade. It's a very pretty sweet shade & of course screams Spring! Actually, I think any pastel polish reminds me of Spring ^__^

I applied 2 coats to even out the polish to the right opacity/coverage. This color really is "Charming"!

If your looking for the perfect pastel purple polish (A PPPP, just made that up btw hehe) than grab a bottle of Revlon's Charming. I absolutely LOVE it & I am sure you will too!

Wishing you an a amazing week ahead. Stay warm! (Currently snowing like crazy here)

NEW L'oreal Sublime Soft Gentle Micellar Solution Review

Hi Loves, today I will be reviewing L'oreal's new Sublime Soft Gentle Micellar Solution.

I purchased it from my local Walmart for about $10 CDN & it comes in a 200mL bottle.

The packaging is very simple & minimal, it's a plastic clear bottle with a snap off cap.

On the packaging it does mention that it is fragrance free but as I was using the solution I did notice a very slight but light smell- didn't bother me at all.

I tested this solution on my eyes, face & lips and overall it did a pretty good yet gentle job at removing my make up. I was not wearing any waterproof make up so I am not too sure at how well it does with that.

This micellar solution left my skin feeling soft, clean & once dried- felt very hydrated and non greasy. Going to be adding this micellar solution into my daily skin cleansing routine. Definitely a great make up remover/cleanser!

Watch the video down below if you would like to see a in depth review & demo on this NEW L'oreal Sublime Soft Gentle Micellar Solution. Thank you so much for reading & watching, mmmuah.

Shu Uemura S Curler Review

Hi darlings! Today, I am really excited to share & review Shu Uemura's New S Curler with you all! My lashes are on the sparse/wimpy side of lashes & I was sold when I saw that this eyelash curler was designed to help with precision w/ difficult to reach areas of your lashes (inner & outer corners). Since, I am not blessed with full lashes, EVERY single lash that is curled counts & makes a big difference.

Super simple instructions & very easy to use.

Along with the eyelash curler, there was a silicone refill pad so when time comes to get rid of the old one on the curler you can do so!

The Shu Uemura S Curler is very unique, different & mini! Let's take a closer look below.

The only significant difference with this curler & a regular one is the fact that it is small, which means you have to work in sections instead of one go. The size of the curler makes it more precise to fit to the shape of your eyes. Also, it is flat with a bit of a curve to it. Quite comfortable to hold and use as well.

Another difference, is that it has that white pad for you to stabilize it on your eyelids so accidents won't happen- like pinching your skin or worse! Owwie.

First step: With the curler open, place and stabilize the white pad on eyelid. (Personally, I like to start off at the center lashes than my inner & outer corners of my eyes)

Second: Squeeze curler gently on the lashes & hold in place for several seconds.

Third: In outward & upward direction/motion, repeat the same steps until you are happy with the curl.

Curling my inner short lashes.

My eyes swoop downwards at my outer lashes so a regular eyelash curler can sometimes miss that area. With this S Curler it did a wonderful job at curling & not missing any lashes on the outer corners of my eyes.

Ooh lala! All beautifully curled!!

Overall, I really LOVE this new & very innovative eyelash curler. It did what it said it was going to do- provide precision, apply adjustments to your eyelashes (great for any eye shape) & it really helped with the hard to reach areas of my lashes. Although, yes it did take a bit longer than using a reg. eyelash curler but to me it was worth the time. It curled every single one of my lashes- short, long, you name it & made a huge difference! So if you have wimpy lashes like I do or if you are a lucky ducky that has full lashes, I do recommend this awesome eyelash curler to you. Plus, it's pretty friggin cool!!

I hope this review was helpful to you, watch the full video down below if you would like to see a demo on how I used this Shu Uemura S Curler.

Thank you so very much for reading & watching! We shall speak soon. Mmmuah.

NEW Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser & Dream Wonder Powder Review

Hi Loves! Today's review is on Maybelline's New & so adorable- Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser & Dream Wonder Powder.

Let's start off with Maybelline's Baby Skin first.

Maybelline's Baby Skin has a thick gel consistency once it is squeezed out of the tube. Definitely transparent!

Once you apply a little pressure to it with your fingers, it turns into a smooth gel & feels very lightweight on the skin.

Can you tell the difference between the area where I applied the pore eraser? The skin instantly looks smoother! I loved how it made my skin feel- super soft & gave it that nice smooth base for foundation to go on like a dream. As for the blurring of the pores, yes it did indeed BUT definitely did not erase the look of them so overall I was very pleased with the blurring effect. (Keep in mind, my pores are not too deep)

Next up, we have Maybelline's Dream Wonder Powder. I loved their Dream Matte Powder & I must say, this new powder is definitely a lot better! The Dream Wonder Powder has a much more silkier texture, smoother & it is a bit more hydrating for a powder. The powder did not stick to any of my dry patches on my face & didn't look chalky or cakey on. Also, I would consider it to be a light coverage powder as it did not cover my redness/dark spots on my face very well. It's awesome as a setting powder or even using concealer to conceal your imperfections first & than finishing it off with this powder.

Overall, I enjoyed using this powder a lot & would recommend it to anyone!

I hope this review on Maybelline's Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser & Dream Wonder Powder was helpful to you. Watch my full review video down below. As always, thank you so much for reading & watching! See you soon. Mmmuah.
