Hi Loves! Hope you all are doing well!!
Today's review is on Rimmel's NEW Moisture Renew Lipstick (500 Diva Red and 130 Oxford Street Fuchsia) & Lip Liner (001 Universal). I purchased these from Walmart for $6.98 CAD each. Rimmel has recently repackaged & reformulated these lipsticks to add more moisture and color to your lips. Also, they introduced their first ever invisible lip liner!
Lets start with the Moisture Renew Lipsticks!
Product Claims:
Moisturizing Comfortable Wear. Lips so cared for, true colour is maximised! Moisture Infusion: Innovative formula with 3 Super Moisturizers – Collagen, Polypeptides & Hyaluronic Acid deeply hydrates lips and improves their condition instantly and over time. Lips look and feel up to 70% more hydrated and up to 60% smoother – color is maximized, all day long. Ultimate Color Indulgence with SPF 20 Protection: Now infuse lips with perfectly luscious, luminous and richer colour: a wide & fine selection of perfectly blended, sumptuous shades. Caring colour complex of vitamin A, C & E, anti-oxidants and SPF 20 protects lips from everyday damage.
The packaging comes in a purple plastic top & a silver/chrome base and at the bottom of the tube there is the shade color & lipstick name as well. Once you take off the cap, the whole tube is silver/chrome too and is very easy/smooth to twist the lipstick up & down. This new version of the Moisture Renew Lipstick definitely looks more modern & up to date compared to the old one.
The top of the lipstick is slanted which gives the simple packaging of the lipstick more personality & also has Rimmel's signature crown imprinted on it.
Rimmel's Moisture Renew Lipsticks do come in 12 different shades from nudes, to pinks to berries to reds. These lipsticks to me smell like old lady whitening foundation, I can't really describe exactly what it is but on my lips it does not bother me at all. When applying the lipstick, it glided on very smoothly & one swipe gives you full coverage so if you have pigmented lips already than it will cover. Also, it feels very moisturizing on my lips even after I took off the lipstick & the color payoff is AWESOME!!
These lippies lasted for about 5-6 hours on me. They do transfer if you eat or drink anything & once you wipe it off, it does not leave a stain.
This is 2 layers swatched. Even with 1 swipe it is very pigmented & vibrant! With Diva Red, it was not true to color than what was in the lipstick bullet. In the bullet it was a deeper berry red, where as on my lips it turned out lighter, blue toned red. Great for evening wear or Fall/Winter. Oxford Street Fuchsia was true to color- bright pink fuchsia shade & perfect for Summer. Both lipsticks are very creamy but they did not bleed or feather on me at all. If you wanted to, since they are creamy you can line your lips if you wanted a more defined lip.
Moving on to the Universal Transparent Lip Liner!
Product Claims:
Invisible lip liner that defines lips and protects color. Shea butter provides a moisturizing barrier. Protects lip color from smudging and bleeding for up to 7 hours. Clear shade that works perfectly with any lipstick. Dermatologically tested.
Same packaging as the Rimmel lip liners. Awesome because it is retractable so no sharpening required! Easy peasy. It is super unique since it is a clear/transparent lip liner.
If you are terrible at applying lip liner, this will be your best friend! Its clear so it won't show the lines on your lips. This lip liner does not feel drying on my lips at all (moisture renew)! I lined my lips & than filled them in and puckered my lips together & I noticed that it felt quite moisturizing, unlike traditional lip liners that leave your lips feeling dry.
Definitely keeps my lipstick in place & helps it not bleed. Also, if you have funky lipstick shades & cannot find the perfect lip liner shade to match it- this being clear will match any color lipstick imaginable! COOL!!
Overall, I definitely think the New Moisture Renew Lipsticks are great! I really like it because it has a great vibrant color payoff, very hydrating & feels super comfortable on my lips! And the Universal Transparent Lip Liner is just a awesome product that I think everyone should have in their make up collection.
I hope this review was helpful to you! Have you seen these new products yet??
Love, Linda
